Add "Salutation" as a merge field option when sending emails

It would be nice to be able to select "Salutation" as a donor merge field when sending an email through RE NXT.

In RENXT give us the option to pull from the "other name formats". The "other name format" field in the classic view is the "Addressee/Salutation" tab. The addressee/salutation tab in classic view allows you to create numerous options. We currently have seven options (Name Tag, Individual Informal Salutation, Individual Formal Salutation, Individual Addressee, Joint Informal Salutation, Joint Formal Salutation, and Joint Addressee).

Yes we definitely need this 'salutation' option

Yes please, it would be wonderful for 'salutation' to be added as a merge field on NXT. As a major donor fundraiser, it's imperative that my emails are personalised.

We just migrated to NXT. Now to find out that we cannot even merge some of the basic fields like PriSal so that we can send emails addressed to husband and wife. If we send emails to Major Donors without the spouse first name included we may just lose those donors.

We can't personalize any emails because we use the "First Name Salutation" option in the back end. It makes NXT marketing null and void.

This is a major issue for personalizing emails. Is it close to reaching the tipping point?

How is this not already possible... Its a basic email comms function that should surely be in place.

Because we could not access our salutation field, which would have personalized an email in the way that we wanted, we were forced to use the Email Merge function in Word.

Voting this one as a huge priority.

Hi there. Just adding another vote to add Salutation to a merge field. It does seem like an oversight/design flaw to not have the age-old way to address people by name available in an email template. Thanks all.

We've just had a donor complaint about this. Please rectify, it's not a complex fix.

Please!!! Allow merge fields for all addressee and salutation fields, even custom ones! Not having this option has created the need for work arounds that are not helpful or convenient. Why has this not been done yet?

Is there any hope of what would seem to be a very easy addition to the merge field for NXT emails for SALUTATION? This feels like a pretty big oversight and feedback has been given for years (2019) with no update.

A no-brainer to have all addressee / salutations options available as merge fields in NXT emails and donation forms!

Still not added? come on!!! This is creating confusion as households thinks we forgot their partner.

Salutations..? Naaah, who needs that anyway? Lets just wait some more years before we add that...

Please, add all salutations, we have a special salutation just for emails.

Would also like to see the following for pledges: amount, paid, balance due. The email feature should work with the same fields available to do a mailing. We use it for marketing, and would also like to use it for pledge reminders. Maybe, the available merge fields could be the same as what is contained in the associated list.

This should be a given, honestly. 100% agreed!

Especially since we cannot pull Former Name, either, we really need to be able to pull other salutations. Being a school, we refer to alums by their maiden and last names, with maiden being in the Former Name field. Please update!
