I agree - other platforms such as Classy give you a huge amount of flexibility to designate coding for different kinds of transactions so they make sense in the database. This is very clunky and out of touch with non-profits needs - requires use of other platforms and work arounds.
Blackbaud, this is a big issue if you expect us to use the new gift management process in RENXT. We need the ability to change the gift type at the time of reviewing the batch to change for these circumstances where the fee or payment is "non-charitable".
Not all monies coming into a non-profit are charitable gifts. I would think Blackbaud would realize this and not have "one-time" gift as the only option for registration fees (or any other monies) that are 100% non-charitable. We should not have to do "work-arounds" to account for these registration fees like creating a separate fund for them. That fund still shows up in the reports as a gift and throws off the results.
Also see this idea to request unlocking the Gift Type field.

This is a huge issue for us as well. Fees we charge for events are not gifts and should not be sitting in records as pending gifts.

This is absolutely obsurd that it's still recording registration fees as gifts. I have brought it to the attention RE for almost 6 months.
I couldn't agree more! Event registration fees are not gifts and should not be recorded as a gift, even if it has $0 as the receipted amount.
