When someone signs up for my event through my NXT online registration form and also gives an additional donation, it comes into batch as a split gift and is all counted as a payment towards the registration fee. This makes it really hard to pull what's an additional event donation and what's a registration fee. I need the additional donation to show up as an additional gift towards the event by creating a separate gift record from the registration fee gift record.
My Finance team is concerned about this one. They need to be able to see the total event revenue and reduce that by the contributions so that they can report our income accurately to the IRS. We can't do this when our donations are merged with event registrations.
We also have FE, and have not figured out how to post over registrations + donations to Finance accurately, because they don't want contributions included, and we can't split a subtype. (We would not want to do that.)

Along these same lines, please allow business rules in NXT Events so that the registration fee is NOT required to be automatically placed in the gift record.
Yes please!! Running these gifts through the event form means that it takes them completely out of our normal batch processing, and it becomes a bit of a nightmare.

The concept of split gifts is nice when you're looking at a gift record only. The moment you need to extract that data for reporting, it becomes a nightmare.
