We need to be able to see the Receipt Amount, and the Benefits information in NXT. We process many things that are only partially or not at all tax-deductible. Especially since Gift Type appears as "Donation" this is very confusing to the MGO looking at the records. They cannot easily distinguish between what is a gift and what is an Event Registration. Ideally you would also add a Gift Type option of Event Registration to make filtering and distinguishing these gifts easier.
Am still hoping for changes with accounting to use "other" to process registrations but will still be issues for events where there is a benefit and a gift component.
With hundreds of events, many with a fee, we do not want the registration fee to be considered a 'gift amount.' It is not their last gift, largest gift and should not be included in lifetime giving totals which pull based on gift amount, not receipt amount. We can not filter these out by fund as for many alumni events the registration fee and any gift amount go to the same fund.
I am going to open this one back up. The main reason we closed this one as already exists is because the main comment dealing with Receipt amount and Benefits information being shown on a gift record is available today. This idea does have multiple things being suggested in it so we may have to split these out to properly track.
This is only Partially completed. Yes, we can view the Receipt amount before processing the gift. However, there are a number of items not completed.
I am unable to view the Benefits received when before processing the gift.
The Gift Type needs to be open for us to change to OTHER before gift is processed.
Event Registrations need to be Split into separate gifts so each fund can be processed correctly. Our Accounting office requires that we Split the gifts into separate transactions.
Event Registrations need to clearly show what event it is linked to
Can you clarify how this already exists? Event reg $ pulls into total giving figure.
