A limitation in Raiser's Edge 7 was that we could not split proposals to more then one campaign and/or fund. Could we make this possible in Raiser's Edge NXT. This is something we can do in Blackbaud CRM and a big desirable in NXT.
Of course you can split the gift when it comes, but splitting the proposal will make it possible to track the income for certain funds in advance of the gift being given. The only other option is the create more then one proposal and that means doubling (or more) the work load to monitor progress.
This would be immensely helpful. Our campaigns are by financial year - so, if we get a gift from a trust over X years,we have to create X number of opportunities with each one linked to the relevant financial year. Massively inflating the number of opportunities and the time spent updating things.
We're coming across the same questions - really degrades our ability to track expected revenue.
I agree. THIS IS HUGE problem. Especially at the principal giving level. The Gift officer is asking for 1 Big gift that is going to benefit many different purposes or funds or colleges. The only way to deal with this is then putting in multiple opportunities/proposals. Which can artificially inflate performance metrics is # of opportunities is a metric. Please fix this.
Hey Blackbaud folks! This has been open for two years, wondering if the idea has been axed or not. We have to roll out a complete plan for utilizing opportunity records soon and this function would be immensely helpful. Otherwise, we will have to build attributes for it. I know split gifts are a huge pain, possibly not looking to add the crazy to another record type?
I have customers in the UK who have been waiting a long time for this, very much an item we hoped NXT would fix.
We offer opportunity packages with multiple funds and would like the ability to use split funds when setting up the opportunity/proposal.
This gets a big YES vote from me. In order do really use Opportunities for tracking/reporting from NXT we have to have the ability to choose more than one Fund and/or Campaign for each Opportunity. Thanks!
