Add a conditional field to NXT Email merge fields so that it will use First Name if Preferred name is blank

NetCommunity Email allows you to add a conditional merge field so that if a constituent has a Nickname/Preferred name then it will use that, but otherwise default to Firstname. No equivalent exists in NXT Email, so switching to use that would require a backward step in terms of personalisation for communications.

This would be incredible and improve the quality of the emails sent to our constituents. It would also significantly cut down on the amount of work that has to go into generating these email lists.

This would make an enormous, positive difference in reducing workload for your customers. Email marketing is already limited enough - though thank the gods that we can finally merge the primary salutation after asking for it for seven years - but this would make it more useful for so many customers.

We require more field options period - a formatted salutation. Donors are tired of receiving Dear Mike instead of Dear Joan and Mike, especially if Joan is the donor.

I want to send an email to our database using their preferred name, but not everyone has a preferred name. For those that don't have one, it should be their first name. I don't want it to say Dear blank, and I don't want to uses their first name if that isn't the name they go by. This should definitely be updated as an option.

This is absolutely essential functionality considering there is only the one thank you email available for one-off and regular giving donations. As it stands, we can't include different copy for regular givers.

Yes!!! Please add this. Especially to ensure there is a default if there is no name in the data. For example, if you have it say Dear <first name> and there is no first name in the data, we would like it to say Dear Friend.
