Surely it would make more sense for there to be a dropdown for the county field pulled from the table entries in the database view.
Today we discovered that having security permissions to add entries to tables within the database view is irrelevant when it comes to entering text into the county field on a constituent profile in NXT.
This has resulted in a whole raft of new table entries into our counties table which are incorrect i.e. Staffs instead of Staffordshire, or a postal town instead of a county.
This occurs both when a user in NXT saves an entry into the county field, or when using the address finder functionality and saving the address suggested which may be incorrect.
This constantly bothers me. We don't want "Greater London" in the county table but BB's solution to the county table constantly being edited is that "Greater London is a county". :(
It's not quite as bad as the "you can delete events from web view, without delete permission in db view" but it's up there.
I agree with this. The current format means that organisation that have set up specific county lists can no longer ensure they are correct and being used appropriately in NXT
