Awesome! So that would mean we can just add an email field to the guest
registration on the event registration form and that will (mostly) solve
the problem?

Hi Susan,

Whether we can match a guest to an existing constituent depends entirely on what information about the guest is included with the registration. We need at least email address or phone number included with the name in order to attempt to match.

We do have enhancements planned to continue to evolve this area; including the possibility of doing just a name search on the guest when their host matches and the guest has a relationship to the host.

Am I missing something? When a participant registers a guest using an NXT event registration form, the system does NOT match that guest to an existing constituent record for us. I thought it was supposed to do that? I really do NOT have time to go link all these guests to their constituent records in database view!

We have shipped a new feature that allows you to edit the participant directly from the "Edit participant" or "Edit guest" forms. On these forms, we have now included a search bar with the original participant selected. You can type in this field to change this to another constituent.
