I really appreciate that Events in NXT has been rolled out; it's been a relief being able to manage guest lists in NXT. One change that I would like to see is being able to change an already added participant into the guest of another host.
For example, let's say Emily Smith RSVPs to us. We go and add her to NXT and add her as a participant. We then find out the next day that she is actually a guest of Nancy Johnson. As far as I can tell, with the current features I would have to delete Emily as a participant and then go through Nancy's participant record to then add Emily as her guest.
It would be great to be able to not have to go through a host's record to record guests.
Changing to "already exists" status per earlier messages.
Firstly, thank you for being so responsive to these idea's Samantha! It really is great being able to manage guest lists in NXT and I do look forward to the expansion of features going forward.
I wasn't aware of the functionality you described in the first paragraph, but that does seem to cover what I'm looking to do. Thank you for pointing that out.
Hi David,
If Emily is already a participant, if you go to Nancy's host record and try to add Emily as a guest, it will prompt you that Emily is already a participant and that by saving, Emily will be changed from a host to a guest of Nancy. Give that a try and let me know if that does what you are asking for.
We do have some work planned to be able to more easily change a constituent/participant to another constituent, and change a named guest to a constituent guest or a constituent guest to a named guest in 2020. I'll open this Idea up to voting and keep you update on timing when I have a firmer sense of when we'll release additional functionality to make these sorts of changes easier. While what I wrote above will accomplish what you're trying to do, I believe the fact that you couldn't find it means that we need something more visible to make this sort of change from a participant to a guest in another party.
Thanks,
Samantha McGuin
