The merge field for primary addressee was available in Online Express, but did not make the transition to NXT. Right now we must either call people by their informal, legal first name or with a formal salutation and last name. We prefer to use primary addressee because then it will list spouses together or people's nicknames, etc.
This, and the "Spouse First Name" field from BB NetCommunity should definitely be in NXT. A lot of us are moving from those platforms to NXT, and not having these two merge fields is incredible frustrating. We want to personalize our emails as much as possible, and many of our donors are couples who use one email address. Addressing them both is a MUST.
Please tell me this is being added t othe functionality. It's c rippling the use of a name field.
This idea was posted more than 2 years ago. It's got a bunch of votes and a bunch of supporting comments. I really like working with NXT's email platform, but this is such a frustrating oversight. Why is this still open and not implemented?
Please, Blackbaud, this would be a huge improvement and make our outreach that much more powerful.
This is CRUCIAL for email marketing. We want to use NXT marketing, but cannot because it does not offer the primary salutation option. There should be more merge fields available.
This would be a great and very necessary addition. The primary addressee is very important for mass emails, to accord the fitting salutation and naming conventions for individuals. First and preferred names work better for smaller or personalized emails.
The email feature in NXT is useless to us if we aren't able to select specific types of useful salutation, including nickname.
This is a HUGE problem for us. The preferred salutation isn't available as a merge field in the new email marketing section in RE NXT web view. You can only use Preferred name (Nickname) or First name. If you choose preferred name and there isn't one on the account, it will send the email without a name.
Our folks are accustomed to us using Nicknames, so if we start using their first name, it feels very formal and distant.
I've just spent a lot of time setting up the different email we send in the mail marketing section in RE NXT web view and now we can't use it. For now that is wasted time.
