In the NXT Appeals Dashboard, we are able to view actual gifts by two revenue types (Received or Committed) -- however, since there is only 1 goal field in the Appeals record, only one of these revenue types can be tracked in NXT against the goal.
For the next fiscal year, I've been asked to design reports showing progress vs goal for both pledges & actuals, so it would be great to have fields available for goals that correspond to the Received & Committed categories, so that the goals would make sense for both revenue types. (And I could use the NXT Dashboard for both options instead of being forced to use one for NXT -- or do both in Excel.)
Thanks, that helps! Opening this back up for voting, and we'll keep it in mind for further work.
Hi David, it has been a few years since I shared this idea -- yes, we are able to toggle the actual amounts, but there was only one field for goal in Raiser's Edge database view, so it wasn't possible to toggle as there was only one goal available ("overall goal" in the Appeal record); We also have multi-year goals for Funds, and there was no way to set these up in the software -- We just gave up on using the dashboards, as they were essentially unusable.
Thanks for voting on this idea! Could you help by clarifying - there is already a Received/Committed field where you can toggle whether the goals shown on the web view record are received or committed, and the same is available in dashboards. Is the ask for a separate goal field so that both can be viewed at once on the record and in a single dashboard at the same time?
This is an urgent update critical to our work flow. Our org counts gifts and pledges, not pledge payments or cash in the door, and hinders are ability to show progress to goals to VP's, the board, and the development team. It would be great if we could select more options in the database view on how to count different types of gifts.
Further to this, I'm now being asked to report on both Year-to-Date, and Full-Year Goals for both Received & Committed Revenue. So another dimension...
What I meant is that I've been asked to report against different goals for both pledges (Committed) and cash-basis (received).
