Add primary name formats (Primary Addressee and Primary Salutation) as an output field in Constituent Lists

Please add fields such as gender, nickname, Primary Addressee, etc. as both output fields / "columns to choose" and filters in RE NXT lists. This is going to become more and more important once the ability to export lists as CSV files comes online and this is functionality already supported in SKY Lists in other Blackbaud products (K12 ON solutions). If I need to filter a list to show gender = male and Primary Class of = 1987 that should be possible on a RE NXT list without having to go into database view for a query.

1217 votes on this!!! Blackbaud, let's get this moving please! It seems like a very simple update to make. These fields should be available in constituent lists and in email merge fields. We have the data in webview and it's just trapped there!

These lists are basically useless without this function.

And the joint address and joint salutation fields too

When we transitioned to RENXT four years ago, I was shocked to see that the Primary Addressee field was not an option as an output field on lists! It defeats the purpose of exporting the list if you have address information, but no primary addressee. Please add this very important field to make exported lists more useful.

In RENXT give us the option to select the "other name formats" to display in our column lists. The "other name format" field in the classic view is the "Addressee/Salutation" tab. The addressee/salutation tab in classic view allows you to create numerous options. We currently have seven options (Name Tag, Individual Informal Salutation, Individual Formal Salutation, Individual Addressee, Joint Informal Salutation, Joint Formal Salutation, and Joint Addressee).

When emailing or picking up the phone to dial to someone you need to know if you are addressing them as Dr, Professor, Rabbi, even Ms, Miss or Mrs.... It is almost imperative to have more information than First Name, Surname in NXT records and lists. I also second the need to have the spouse name, as it may be they pick up the phone in the household on a landline or to address them both as joint supporters in an email. These items aren't just a good to know or need to know. They are IMPERATIVE!

I agree with the rest that addressee and salutation need to be added as a column in the RENXT Lists funciton. It is quite inconvenient to go through and add back spouses everytime. I am honestly shocked this hasn't been taken care of since the original post in 2017.

As I manually create "addressee" names (adding spouses) from a constituent list for our donor wall once again, I wonder if this will ever be implemented....

Addressee and Salutation need to be added as columns in the RENXT Lists function in order to create mailing lists. Right now I have to export the list to a query, add the necessary fields and then export again to a file. That is a lot of extra steps when I should be able to export the file right from RENXT Lists with the needed fields for a mailing (addressee and salutation).

Totally agree with comments below. Cannot personalise emails as not all records have first names and there in no functionality to put if blank or one character insert friend eg. This limits the functionality of your email system as we need to be able to personalise to the donors etc. Is there any idea when this may be looked at and implemented. If the functionality is available from DB view I cannot understand why it cannot be available in NXT lists.

Given the demand for this idea (and the fact that it's so necessary), can someone please provide an update and reason why it's taking so long to implement?

This is still being requested and voted on - today is 11/2/2022!! What's taking so long to implement this?

Yes, went through the whole process of setting up power automate and am SHOCKED that addressee and salutation are not available fields. What a mess!

This idea needs to be implemented ASAP with Microsoft Office integration being removed. Specifically, spouses in our database often share a record so we capture both names through Addressee and Salutation in our acknowledgements. With Letter Box and Power Automate as options for generating acknowledgements, we need these merge fields in Constituent Lists.

Crazy that these basic constituent fields are not available to export in the NXT webview. It forces mailing lists to be run by the database manager in database view and slows down our mailing list process.

Yes! NXT needs to catch up to Classic and users need to be able to pull lists with this info from NXT directly.
