Allow user to edit/adjust Gift Subtype and other gift fields in web view
We need to be able to edit the Gift Subtype on a gift record in web-view. Why is it we can edit something as vital as Gift Amount, but not Gift Subtype??
Agree completely. It is a huge pain and inconvenience to have to wait for Database view to open just to make a minor change or edit to a gift such as subtype or receipt amount, among other things
We were training someone new and she accidentally forgot to post the campaign or appeal on a batch. Unfortunately this batch had 267 transactions and it has already been posted to the GL. Since FE is new to us, we didn't realize that we couldn't just go in and "add or change" the campaign or appeal. We tried to do an adjustment, but the adjustment screen did not offer the ability to change the campaign or the appeal, it just offers the option to change amount and fund. We now have to go back and reverse individually ALL of the 267 transactions and do a new entry post. Right now this is all manual and will take up a lot of our time. Having the additions of Campaign and Appeal would be very beneficial to the Adjustment screen or provide another way to make these types of adjustments without having to reverse each transaction OR without having to go into "every transaction" within a batch. Mistakes happen. Especially when training. Thank you.
I second Kim's comment, especially regarding the ability to manually allocate a gift across multiple rows. We need the flexibility to adjust the gift amount on the original entry and add additional rows as needed to reflect how the gift should be allocated across different funds. This would allow users to accurately record gift allocations without relying on a system-defined split gift functionality.
I just want to be sure that this includes the ability to split a gift into different rows. If someone makes a $1000 gift to be split between two different funds, we want the ability to change the $1000 amount to $500 and then enter a separate $500 gift on a new line. Looking forward to delivery of this idea.
We created an automated pledge for a donor who later wanted to increase their gift. We were unable to do so and now our options all involve more work for the donor and giving their card information again. This is not ok!
Still an issue. Unable to edit the gift to add Campaign info that isn't coming through on online gifts - even when applying a template. The columns added are not working!
This and pledging are the things that are holding us back from using web forms for anything other than simple donations on a small scale. It's really frustrating. We have to use subtype for our accounting department, and not only can you not add it in webview, you can't edit what's been put there if it was added incorrectly. This creates a huge bottleneck for gifts for us, as someone has to go in and make those changes in DB view.
This is necessary for us when our recurring gifts and now pledges are processing automatically and can ONLY be updated in NXT. We use Gift Subtype to manage our receipt process for emailed, printed or no receipt.
We use the Gift Type and Gift Subtype to differentiate coding for our integration with FE. We would like to either globally change the subtype in a batch in webview, or be able to determine what this field should default to based on the event or donation form.
I totally agree. During testing, I saw the field in web view Gift Management and since I could update it there, figured it was editable in web view too (my bad assumption). Nope, have to go back to db view to make any updates.
We are new to using the RE NXT donation form (moved from the 'Core' giving form) and are just discovering some of these idiosyncrasies. Fortunately users can see the subtype in web view, but the AdvSvcs team needs to go into db view to update.
Due to more reporting requirements from Finance team, we are actively using Gift Subtype this year (with expected updates as others review the incoming gifts).
This functionality has been released. Adjustments are coming very shortly.

All gift edits and adjustments are coming in Q2 of 2026
When will Gift Subtype be editable in webview?? So vital!

Thank you for addressing this!!
We have work planned to address all the fields that are currently not editable in web view. Gift subtype is part of that upcoming work.

Another feature that I cannot believe hasn't been implemented yet. Opening database view in order to change subtypes is such a waste of time.

This would be extremely helpful.
