Make the reference (comments) field in a gift editable in web view
At this time, an unposted gift can be edited in nearly every way from the web view. However, if there is a comment (reference in database view), it's view-only, there's nowhere in the web view of the gift to edit it. This is quite frustrating when we are trying to implement gift entry exclusively in web view.

Currently we can not edit a pledge in NXT
Merged currently, if we want to add a comment or reference to a pledge record, we can't do it in NXT. We have to do it in desktop. full functionality should carry over to editing any transaction.Planned

The comments field of a gift record needs to be editable in NXT
Merged Perhaps this is already in the works, but it would be helpful to add and edit comments that are part of a gift record. Currently, we have to open database view to do this, which is annoying.Planned

This item will release in August along with editing all other gift fields. This release will include creating adjustments in web view as well.
What's the timeline on this? It appears that it's been "planned" since May of 2019.
Additionally, we need to be able to add new reference (comments) on gifts. Sorry for multiple comments.

Yes I agree with the other comments - we use this field as part of our processes to provide more detail for audit trail. We would like to retain this rather than use a different/less noticeable area (notes is much further down) - so not as easy to review a gift quickly.
Yes, please add editable Gift Reference/Comments in RE NXT. We use this field for important bits of information related to the gift that we need to be able to see at a glance or to export with the gift info.
This seems like an important thing to be able to do in RE NXT, but it still hasn't been implemented for some reason.
