These two types of gifts should NOT have the same gift type. They are totally different things. One requires backend running of payments, the other requires forward facing follow up with donors. They should be identified as Pledges versus Installments. I am now adding Gift Sub Types to be able to account for it and it is a huge hassle to have yet another place to have to think through when entering gifts (Gift Sub Type, Payment Method, Campaign, Fund, Appeal...)
