Action notifications for users not assigned to the action

Sometimes you need to notify other User/Solicitors that an action has taken place. I get that you could add to calendar and send then the email but it takes to many steps. Thus should be as quick and easy as it is in RE7 Database view. This is a functionality our fundraisers would like to continue using. Also, having those notifications visible in the NXT WorkCenter and not just in Calendar would be extremely useful as well.

It is an important feature for NXT users. On many occasions we have to ask our support staff for a particular task that need to be completed before our next meeting with the prospect. If it is done thru NXT, then proper record would be maintained and would avoid duplicate efforts for copy and paste.

I don't understand why the database view Auto-remind/Notify feature isn't available in NXT webview. It was such a useful feature which was used by a lot of fundraisers and support staff. It seems strange that you can only add assigned canvassers to an action, but can't notify different individuals about the action. I also agree it would be very useful to see notifications in the WorkCenter.

Yes, this functionality should exist. I don't know what I don't know. If a colleague meets with someone I am assigned to, I don't know that is happening unless I go look for that. That is not how it should work. I should receive notification that someone has engaged with or is intending to engage with someone I am soliciting. I envision a timely email, that timing will be determined by the solicitor how often to receive the email, that would auto blast daily, weekly etc of all activity that has happened on my assigned solicitors. At that point, I will be able to determine from that email if I have any action items I need to create for myself as relates to those activities. If not, I have been looped in on awareness and can move on with my other activities.

Absolutely! Just including Fundraisers/Solicitors staff in the "Assign to" field is unrealistic. The back end is as important as the front End in Fundraising. Notifying Administrative Staff that some updates/changes have to happen to the constituent record is as important as soliciting the donor.

Is this scheduled yet? My foundation director asks about it weekly. It is so vital to our work. Please give me an update. :)

This is a fix requested in multiple suggestions. We should really be consolidating duplicate suggestions/votes.

A recent, big client I was with asked for both the ability to let other users know an action is going to be happening as well as notification that an action did happen.  They want to be able to notify another user without that user being directly the action's fundraiser/solicitor/do-er, just notified of the action.  As noted by others here, this sort of do-able in the database view but there isn't a way in the database view to distinguish between "FYI this is going to happen/this happened" and "you need to work on this even though you're not the official action do-er/person interacting with the constituent and here's your reminder."  Their previous system they converted from let them send notifications like this.  :)

Agree. Can't this come up as a tag that someone has reached out to one of your prospects?

I AGREE.  After having used this function in RE 7 I feel like I have gone backwards on this and hope there is an update or patch soon.  Thanks.  Heidi Dowgwillo, Forest Park Forever
