Bring back basic donor details in email notifications

It'd be very helpful if BASIC donor information like name and email would show up again in donation email notifications.

Just a few days ago, we transitioned from CommitChange to Raiser's Edge donation forms on our website, and they were working just fine. However, a few days ago during one of our biggest fundraising campaigns of the year, basic donor details stopped showing up in notifications. All we see in email notifications today are donation date, amount, and comments. This is not very helpful to our team. We're now considering switching back to CommitChange forms.

This change was very frustrating, because as fundraisers, many of us rely on these email notifications to call or email our donors in a timely manner, especially during an interactive campaign like Giving Tuesday. As an example, our Executive Director does not have the time to log in to the database view, or request a donation report every time they'd like to thank a donor—an essential practice in our industry.

I understand the privacy issues behind this, but is it possible to at least bring back some BASIC donor details like name and email to these notifications?

After additional security review, we have shipped a change to include donor information in the admin notification emails! You will start to see this information in notification emails going forward.

    Hello,

Thank you for this idea. To help protect donor information, we do not include personally identifiable information in emails. We do include a link in the notification email so that authenticated (logged in) users can view personal information if you have given them permission. You can read about how authenticated users can easily see information here.

    Best,

    Juliana

Gosh I can't echo this enough. I know it was done for security purposes, but it has thrown a giant wrench in the way we operate.
