Include appeals and default campaigns/funds for event registrations
We use appeals for each registration unit/price and set defaults for the campaign and fund. The appeal field is currently not included when adding a payment in NXT (even though it's a required field for us in the database view). Yikes.
For our organization, I don't have separate Appeal ID's per fee on the Event page. So I would like the option to add an Appeal ID when editing Payment configurations, alongside Campaign ID and Fund ID. See attachment. Having the Appeal ID would allow me to see what Event a gift is for when they come into Gift Management.
We utilize Luminate for our Events currently and we are able to add Appeal ID to the cross configuration to RE and that is great for when gifts come in and they are already perfectly coded and I don't have to edit them. Makes it more streamlined to process those gifts.
This is aknown issue since the Events Module has been added to RENXT. And it still has not been fixed. Why? It is such a simple move to add one field in the NXT that already exists in the RE database? Blakbaud please fix this.
I think just in general we need to include AT LEAST ONE DEFAULT APPEAL for the event registrations just so you don't have to keep adding them to EACH INDIVIDUAL GIFT when processing the gift batches in NXT.
We have an annual benefit auction and patron preview party with the following units:
Benefactor's Circle $10K: 10 benefit tickets, plus two patron party tickets
Sponsor $5K: 4 benefit tickets, plus two patron party tickets
Friend $2K: 2 benefit tickets, plus two patron party tickets
Individual Ticket: $300 benefit only
Young Friend Ticket: $200 benefit only
This is the only time we use the same appeal each year so it's important for us for reporting. Registrants will often buy tickets at more than one level and/or not use tickets. Being able to edit the Benefits received to reflect the number of tickets used, not just editing the contribution amount (web view) or receipt amount (database view) is equally important.
Thanks for the Idea! Can you give me an example or two of what this would look like for one of your events? What unit/price is typical for one of your events that you would have a separate appeal for each?
please add option to specify a default appeal for an event! the absence of this causes us a lot of extra work!
