    Admin response

We have shipped our brand new mapping feature which allows you to find constituents by searching a location (like city, state, or zip) or you can zoom in and out and drag to an area you care about. You can also filter the map by drawing a box around the area you are looking for. The map filters are used with the other filters on the list. This works in Fundraising > Work > Portfolio tab, and in the general constituent lists area. We have shipped this to a majority of customers and will continue to get rolled out over the next few weeks. Please let us know how it goes! :)

Again, we need to be able to get to where people work, not just where their preferred address is.

Will you also add city and state as fields we can filter on in portfolio and list views?

I love this new map, however, we also need the ability to exclude constituents who have the "No valid address" box checked and maybe the option to select an address type in he available filters.

Thanks for the response.  I knew the mapping feature was coming but hadn't connected it with the ability to filter by city, state, zip.  It is great to tell my team that it should be coming soon.

very cool! Funny that y'all went straight to this before adding city, state, county, (etc.) as list filter criteria! Anyway, very cool. Always getting better...

If you go to lists, you can see a location drop down in the filter section itself, then it is enabled. If it isn't, you haven't been enabled yet. We can't unfortunately turn it on for specific clients at this point as we're most of the way through. We had to geocode all the records first, which is why some got it before others. As we finish your database, we light it up in the product.  It will be there VERY soon for all!

How do we know if this is active for our organization? And can we request that it be "turned on," if it isn't already?

The HUGE need for this was just reinforced to me.  I was providing two new members of my team with some NXT training and asking about how they might use it.  Basically without the ability to either filter or sort by geographic location, the lists become too large and cumbersome to look through.  If they are going to be in Atlanta, then they need to see a list of people in the Atlanta area.  I noticed that there are at least 8 separate Ideas that are basically asking for the same thing.  I bet if you added up the votes for all of them this would make the top 10!

Yes! Our planned giving officer's spend most of their time traveling and while they always hit up those big donors in their portfolio, it is nice to be able to see a list of any active/inactive donor in a city they will be going to and trying to get in front of them. We also send out mailings specific to certain areas where we have physical locations.
