Add 'Quick Find' or 'Advanced Find' option to Search a Constituent

Please add a Advanced Find option to be able to search A Constituent by Constituent ID, email, city/State, First Name, Last Name, Address, or even partial name search. We have many organizations that have same names and we often have to search by City or State. My team has to go to the Database view to find their Organization in order to go back in the NXT view to continue with their workflow.

In NXT, we cannot find important donors with hyphenated last names who may only give one part of that name. Also, if they use their middle name and not their first name, NXT will not return a result. This has caused multiple issues with donors as well as causing us to create duplicates. Database view allows these partial searches using the wildcard.

This is a suggestions from 2017 that is still not implemented. It's so important! Please add the ability to search for a constituent by email address, zip code, area code, constit ID, and not just name!!

this search functionality is sorely needed in NXT. I often use address search parameters to find constituents at the same address, or by multiple fields like zip code and last name.

Searching by multiple fields is something that is used often when trying to narrow down common last names, cities, etc. Partial searches and wildcards are also integral to to anyone who works day to day on the backend of a large database. This helps reduce duplicates and more efficiently filter results of one off searches.

Adding to the votes: we absolutely need the advanced search option, AND the ability to turn off enhanced search (which is not the same thing and does not provide the same functionality). The ability to search by multiple fields is vital to maintaining database integrity.

The same search functionality that is available in DBV should be available in RENXT, I still have to go to DBV to search for someone via email or constituent ID. Those are basic functionalities that RENXT lacks.

Also, being able to turn off enhanced search would help greatly. So many false results to wade through. Please also look at idea RENXT-I-8240: Ability to turn OFF enhanced search in the main Constituent Search Bar

We desperately need the advanced search option, like we have in database view, to be able to focus and drill down the laundry list of constituents that search currently returns.

As it is now, having multiple constituents to select from can lead to the actual Constituent one is looking for to be overlooked and a duplicate constituent created.

When I am updating records to deceased, it is extremely helpful to be able to search on multiple criteria - such as Name and City

Also, I assume that when the wild card is finally introduced, that if I need to search for those on Wiggins Ave, by entering in *Wiggins it will give me all those who have the name of Wiggins, towns called Wiggins, as well as addresses with Wiggins. But if we had advanced filtering, the filtering should indicate to the system that only addresses with Wiggins is wanted.

This would be such an upgrade in webview! I often want to search by name and partial email. We have 35 Matt Smiths in our system - I want the ones who are employees. I can do this easily database view, but not in webviwe. I often want to search on partial address or partial name and city. I do a lot of additional creative searches when I'm trying to ensure we don't have duplicates. An advanced search option similar to what is availabe in database veiw would make a huge difference in webview search functionality! When I'm adding new records, I almost always add them in database veiw because I don't want to miss that they already exist in webview. Webview's search is pretty powerful, but it doesn't allow you to search by multiple fields at once (except partial name fields if you enter it as "partial last, partial first"). I often want a name field AND another field. Giving us the flexibility to search for individuals and organizations in creative ways is just good duplicate management!

Voting for the 'Advanced Search' option in which we can combine various criteria. Search functionality that is at least as advanced as 'database view'. Also, I love being able to 'search using query' in database view. It allows me to see my preferred output fields in the search results.

Blackbaud - Any update on this? We really need it.

There are enough "Saint Paul Lutheran Churches" in our database that our staff actually cannot use web view to find them. If I search for all Trinities and then use the "find in this list" bar to filter by address, there's too many entries, and it will only work on constituents in the first 200 or so results. I've had to create aliases for specific records so that front line fundraisers can find them. And you can't exactly explain to a fundraiser why they can't search for "Saint Paul Lutheran Church Springfield" or whatever because they're right, that's basic functionality, commonplace in databases and search engines since the 90s at least.

There really needs to be the ability to search by multiple data points and partial names/wildcards, because as is it severely impacts the functionality of web view for frontline fundraisers, marketing, and administrative staff in any area involving looking up or entering records on a daily basis.

And I could be wrong, but it looks like web view search runs off the same infrastructure and UI as lists. So I'm guessing it would be possible to build an advanced search feature based on the infrastructure for constituent list filters. So while a search tool with similar functionality to the database view search tool where I can type "*t pa*, sp, il" to pull up "Saint Paul Lutheran" in Springfield, IL in seconds would be best, the ability to apply constituent filters to search results would be an 75% fix to the problem, moving it from "you can't do a lot of searches in web view because the search tool has been broken for a decade" to "it would be nice to search for constituents as efficiently as in other database software from Blackbaud."

We need advanced search options that allow us to search by city/state. We serve churches and there are THOUSANDS of "First Presbyterian Churches" in our database. We need to be able to search by location to find the right one.

It's been over 6 years since this was requested. Can someone from Blackbaud please give an update about whether this is being considered or not?

Please add this soon. We too have numerous organizations with the same name, it is very difficult to find the correct one.

Yes, we are desperate for this too.  This really needs to be addressed. You have lost a huge piece of functionality by not including an advanced search feature in NXT that most of us would have expected to be available. Please add!

I was asked this morning about search for a constituent by city name in RE NXT.  I found that you can search by street address, by email, or by phone number ... but not City or State.  An advanced search that allows the user to do a combination search would be so powerful.

My development staff is desperate for this.  Please, please, please add!!!  We have over 2,500 constituents in our database named "First Presbyterian Church" (among other things).  It's much to difficult to locate the appropriate record.  Please help us!
