Not user friendly or functional to require a Fundraiser in NXT be an RE User. P2P fundraising happens via multiple channels and these days, platforms (i.e. Facebook) make it easy for the prospective fundraiser and donor to raise funds. Not every P2P fundraiser needs access to RE. For example we have people creating "Birthday fundraisers" on facebook all the time and I have no way to credit them in RE NXT without first going into Database view and marking them as "solicitor." While this is fine for someone who toggles between both, it makes it impossible to do my work in NXT 100%.
Alternatively, there could be another way to recognize a fundraiser or solicitor of funds without having to "soft credit"
Would just like to clarify the last sentence here: Alternatively, there could be another way to recognize a fundraiser or solicitor of funds without having to "soft credit".
This has always existed, and it is the Gift Solicitor field of a gift record. Soft crediting for these gifts is strongly discouraged.
This does not take into account the difference between a gift solicitor and a primary fundraiser.
Anyone else in the same boat? We want to be able to mark non-users (folks who aren't staff working in our database) as a Fundraiser on the NXT side. We have many board members and active volunteers who genuinely solicit on our behalf, but certainly are not users working in our database. We don't need to see a workflow for those folks, and we DEFINITELY aren't going to pay to add them as users on our account. Why was this changed from the easy checkbox on database view to now having to link a "Fundraiser" to an account user?
This idea should be moved to the RENXT idea bank
Currently this is a function that we are allowed in database view. We need to be able to do this in the web view.
We have gift officers working with faculty to work with donors. The gift officers need to be able to track that a particular faculty member was involved in an action without requiring the faculty member to be an RE user. In database view you can mark a constituent as "Is a solicitor" in Bio 1 tab without creating a user account. In web view, this isn't an option and needs to be.
