Not user friendly or functional to require a Fundraiser in NXT be an RE User. P2P fundraising happens via multiple channels and these days, platforms (i.e. Facebook) make it easy for the prospective fundraiser and donor to raise funds. Not every P2P fundraiser needs access to RE. For example we have people creating "Birthday fundraisers" on facebook all the time and I have no way to credit them in RE NXT without first going into Database view and marking them as "solicitor." While this is fine for someone who toggles between both, it makes it impossible to do my work in NXT 100%.
Alternatively, there could be another way to recognize a fundraiser or solicitor of funds without having to "soft credit"
Another example of how people use this is that if there is a healthcare organization which reports back to a physician on a donor prospect for a Grateful Patient program, a physician would have to be assigned a user login. This also means that the RE DBA has to also keep track of when this worker is no longer at the organization, to remove their security. Extremely messy!
I can't imagine the mess this would make for tracking P2P fundraisers!
This is a significant issue for our organization. We need a fix to this simple problem asap.
We need this desperately. Not everyone wants to put their fundraisers to work as Users of the software. We must have another option.
Yes! Hopefully this was a very simple oversight.
I did not realize this feature would not be available in unified view, which is unfortunate because we track our event committee and marathon runner solicitations this way. Please consider making this available in order to track the large amount of P2P donations and solicitors.
Totally agree! Please consider this change to support our database manager
Thank you for this idea! I did not realize the ability to make a non-RE user a fundraiser (solicitor) in webivew would not be available. As with many others, we track board and volunteer fundraising this way. Not sure how we would track it otherwise unless with a dreaded spreadsheet! Please consider adding this to "planned".
Without this, how would organizations track the fundraising work of board members. Boards members do not need access to the system but we certainly need to keep track of the dollars raised.
we have many campaign volunteers coded as solicitors so that we can track donations from their volunteer efforts. We would not create a user account for them so we will lose the ability to create solicitor performance reports for our volunteers.
I cannot emphasize the importance of this feature for our organization, and it will indeed present huge problems for our organization if not addressed by the time DB view sunsets. We have a number of Board members, senior leadership staff, and committee members who are solicitors in the sense that they work with us to open doors and solicit gifts, and we definitely want that information recorded on constituent profiles. That being said, there are so very few circumstances where a Board chair, a CEO, or an event committee member would have- or SHOULD have- a Raiser's Edge login.
I understand I have already addressed this in 2025, but I wanted to reiterate the importance of moving this to the planned status. I appreciate that the issue is currently open to voting which means it isn't a hard no; however, many users at many organizations are performing this work from the database view without realizing they will encounter problems when the database view is phased out in late summer 2027.
We often assign non RENXT users as fundraisers. One example is tracking trustees for a give/get policy. We have some board members who are very active in helping our Major Gift team in solicitations and we use fundraiser relationships to help us keep track of these relationships. We have a specific fundraiser type called "Volunteer Relationship Manager." It is very valuable to track these relationships.
Not all fundraisers should have to be RE Users/have access to RE. We have non-Philanthropy Team fundraisers whose efforts are tracked on opportunities & gifts. It works well in DBV that anyone with a record can be given assignments and be credited for a gift - this should be the same in web/unified view before we lose access to DBV!
Merge with https://renxt.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RENXT-I-8260 and https://renxt.ideas.aha.io/ideas/RENXT-I-7174 (NXT ideas. but this idea should also be in the NXT idea bank).
This prevents customers from acting on, and managing their data. PREVENTS. This is functionality that was possible in database view and is now limiting in webview, and another reason customers cannot fully adopt it. They are not resisting a change in process. It is a critical function that customers cannot accomplish.
There are a lot of reasons listed here. Please make the requested changes so users can do their work.
We also assign Board members as solicitors and do not need or want them to be suers.
We also assign Board members as solicitors and don’t want them to be users!
I cannot upvote this enough. Every organization I've ever worked at has two basic types of fundraisers. Staff-fundraisers and non-user fundraisers who do not need access to RE, but whose involvement/actions/amount raised still needs to be tracked. This change in webview effectively means that all of the ways we track Board giving and Board engagement will not work for new board members once database view is sunset.
Our Board members absolutely do not need access to and should not be RE users. They do not need a Work Center. But we have a very strong interest in tracking what giving they were involved in landing for us. This is an extremely common way to track the Board. If they cannot be designated as fundraisers without being users in webview, we will lose the ability to track the gifts they are involved in and any actions they were instrumental in. We report out on Board Engagement and it makes no sense to have to create an entire parallel tracking method when everything we need can be accomplished by allowing them to be Fundraisers.
Our college President does not need to access to RE, but we DO want to record what Actions and Gifts he was involved in, in a way that is easy to report on.
This is, honestly, a devastating change in functionality. I urge Blackbaud to reverse course on this decision. It is detrimental to our ability to manage our non-constituent fundraisers with fidelity to how we've always been able to manage them. Removing this functionality in webview will make it much harder to do our work, and I cannot see any positive outcome from doing so.
Let us decide what level of access folks need to have in the system, while still allowing us to track their activities as we need to as an organization.
It is extremely important that this functionality is added. Board members, volunteers, and staff members are working hard outside of RE NXT, and we need to be able to credit and track their actions, gifts, and opportunities.
Agree with this request. In webview, if you "Mark as Fundraiser" it is requiring that a User be attached so that they can access Workcenter. We have people who serve as Fundraisers but are not Users in our system (and they don't need Work Centers). Can that User requirement be turned off in a Setting? In database view, you can check the "Is Solicitor" checkbox and it marks them as "Fundraiser".
