Allow NXT Event Registration Forms to Accept Addresses Outside of the United States

My organization is using an NXT Event Form for a conference we were holding this Fall. Now that we’re in the midst of a pandemic, we opted to hold this conference virtually and invite participants from all over the globe to attend.

Unfortunately, we didn’t know that the forms for events only accept addresses within the United States. I know that Online Express allows for international addresses but we’re using Luminate Online (which didn't offer us the design flexibility we needed, hence why we tried NXT forms). We’ll have to find a work-around, but I was shocked that this wasn’t clear when I was learning how to build the reg form. Allegedly it’s being added somewhere now, but we have almost 30 people signed up and I don’t feel jazzed about switching platforms mid-stream like this. For organizations that are trying to have a global reach, this is a tough pill to swallow.

To capture contact information for constituents around the globe, we now offer support for international addresses on event registration forms. For organizations in the US, the Country field will still default to United States, but constituents can change and select another Country like they can on Donation Forms.

This one issue prevents us from being able to use BB Email. There is a way to subscribe by content using events (a work-around but works great--if you are in the united states, but fails outside the US.) To get a better understanding of the Workaround in events, see RE NXT community post RE NXT Email Marketing... Does it work?

A great insight to share with our communications director - so far registrations have all been set up in NetC which handles them but I know sooner or later she will want to use NXT. If OLX and NetC can handle international registrations why on earth wouldn't the NXT? Just don't understand why webview is missing so many functions.

This feature request is URGENT now that covid has cast many events into the virtual world. Our institute is near to Canada, so the inability to receive international registrants is a big problem!

Please, please address this issue. I too am looking for a work around as we hope to use NXT Event Registration forms moving forward. Not allowing non-USA individuals to register is really frustrating.

Anyone in this thread figured out a workaround for this problem with the forms? It is frustrating to know about this after I created all my forms. Thanks

Agreed! Built an extremely complicated form in NXT to utilize the participant options, etc. There isn't an option for us to go and recreate the form in Online Express. Why wouldn't addresses in NXT connect to the database addresses we set up? Extremely frustrating. Please put up a warning or something! Weeks of work lost.

I fully agree and am shocked at what little flexibility NXT forms provide. So frustrating...
