It would be extremely useful for constituents to see a preferences page for marketing - so they can choose what newsletters, etc they would like to receive. Currently, if they click 'unsubscribe' they mass unsubscribe from all marketing from the university - which may not be what they intended (and it is difficult to add them again if they opt back in).
Yes, this is very important and a serious limitation of the email client.
Please implement! This is destroying our ability to receipt or send pledge reminders electronically. It is difficult to manually review every opt out instance and discern whether somebody was simply unsubscribing one overzealous fundraising effort, or if they really intend to never receive newsletters, pledge reminders, volunteer communications, program information, receipts, etc. ever again.
I've noticed this especially when somebody registers for an event online with the same email that at some point in the past they unsubscribed from an end of year push of marketing emails so now they aren't going to be included in event update emails because the unsubscribe link doesn't map to the consent options we have in place. Because of this, I am discouraging our volunteer organizers from relying on RENXT and would like our event organizers and communications team to also use a different platform for marketing, too.
This is a big problem for us as well. I am not convinced that constituents know what they are opting out of and then they are upset when they miss information. I love that we can email to ALL of our constituents at one time, but we need to know what they really are wanting to opt out of. This becomes an even bigger issue when current families opt out of communications.
We, too, are frustrated by the "one-and-done" opt-out strategy for NXT Email. We're losing communications with tons of active constituents because they don't understand that when they click "Unsubscribe" they never get another email from us. This is creating a lot of work to even find a list of who's opted out, contact those constituents, and then call Blackbaud to have their emails reinstated.
This is a huge issue for us, as we send different types of emails in our org. I recently discovered what it would take to get someone back to receiving emails, and I am very frustrated. The ability to email from RE was one of the main pros for us.
I completely agree. Many constituents don't even know they've unsubscribed until after a period of time they realize they have opted out. Sometimes it occurs not even from them but from someone they've forwarded the emails to without deleting the unsubscribe link. There should at the very least be an option when building the forms to provide a confirmation page showing the email that they wish to unsubscribe with perhaps a dropdown for them to indicate why.
This needs to be addressed! It severely impedes the ability of our school to communicate effectively and consistently. If it cannot be, we will have to look for alternative communication platforms. Please reach out if I can be of any assistance in clarifying the ways this current set-up harms your users.
Would be very much in favour of this one. As our organisation grows and communication types diversify it is extremely unhelpful when fundraisers opt-out of some marketing with the knock on effect of them no longer receiving communications related to their fundraising activities via workflows or mass send outs.
I endorse and am in favor of this proposal.
