track and record opt-in messages & responses

Please add functionality to the opt-in tool, accessed via Raiser's Edge NXT>Marketing>Email>Email options gear icon>Opt-in tab.

Currently, this tool is not accessible directly from a constituent's record, there is no way to track who has been sent opt-in messages in the past, and there is no way of knowing whether someone who was sent an opt-in message has actually responded or not. This is compounded by the fact that the Raiser's Edge maintains a list of "blocked" constituents/email addresses that is not available to view by organizations.


This leaves organizations completely in the dark as to whether their constituents are contactable via the NXT email tools.


One feature to add would be to treat opt-ins just like the opt-outs. Currently, opt-out responses flag the email address as "Do not email" and generate a consent record with details about the opt-out selection. Apparently, as of 09/2024, an opt-in response from a constituent will remove the "do not email" flag and that's it. It should generate a consent record, just like the opt-out process, so that organizations can track if and when a constituent actually opted-in, and know for sure that their constituents want to be contacted again.
