We have a very large database due to a robust employee giving program. Many of our employees go by middle names or nicknames. We add these to the Preferred name area and this works great for salutations. I think the preferred name field should be searchable in the same way a maiden name is. This would prevent so many duplicate entries. Not all of our data entry employees realize that someone may go by a different name. Our giving histories are often inaccurate as we have to track down each of the donor's names.
This already works in the black search bar. For example, I have a Thomas Perry who goes by Ty Perry, and if I search "Ty" or "Ty Perry", it will find the Thomas Perry record.
Is there somewhere else that it's not working?
