It is imperative that we have a way to providing annual giving statements and quarterly giving statements to our donors. The giving statement template in NXT is not editable and includes funds that we do not want included on a giving statement, and it does not include the gift reference which is very important. I would highly recommend a giving statement where you can select the columns you want to include as well as the funds you want to include.
Agree with everyone below. Customization is needed so we can control what kind of giving statement they receive. If we send a tax-deductible statement, we can't include non-donation gifts in the statement. Currently none of the following is possible.
DONATION vs NON-DONATION FUNDS — We are not able to select only donation funds to be shown on an NXT Giving Statement. So any gift can show up, including DAF.
HOUSEHOLD STATEMENTS VS. INDIVIDUAL — We cannot send household statements, they are individually created per constituent. This is potentially very confusing as each spouse would receive the other's soft credits. Ability, to turn off or choose whether soft credits, pledges, etc show on the statement could help so they only see their direct gifs made.
GIFT TYPE — The giving statement won't show gift type (wire transfer, DAF, venmo, check, credit card, etc)
CONS
No customization -- we can't send household statements (each constituent receives their own), no brand logo or other notes/statements on the PDF gift statement, no ability to select or deselect gift types, soft credits, donation or non-donation funds
Soft credit confusion — potential confusion for "other credit" section. Will they understand that it's not a duplicate gift if they each receive their own statement. Needs a better explanation or visual, ability to add description or change font.
Donor inconvenience -- donor has to tally up their own tax-deductible totals or decipher information from their spouses. It's not clear.
Please add the ability to include/exclude fund, campaign, appeal, reference fields. The giving statement now just shows "Annual Fund" for everything which is not helpful to our org or our donors. Please make this functionality customizable so that each org can use it the way it best fits their data and constituents. Thank you!
I voted for this. We need to be able to exclude transactions that fall into event registrations, other revenue, or pledges (we have this information set up in campaigns and funds). I'm still using a gift summary in the profiles section of database view because I can adjust criteria as needed and export is as a Word doc to be tailored.
Voted. We don't and can't use the giving statements because they are not customizable. It's too bad, too, because I would love to be able to utilize this feature in RENXT. Sure hope this becomes customizable in the near future.
