Address Info Source field needs to be added

The info source field is missing when adding/editing addresses.  This field is useful for letting us know where the address information came from.  In turn, tracking this can give us insight about both the reliability of the address information and the reliability of the source.

Please add this! Many organizations cannot move address entry to web view without this field.

I am working on a best practice with other people in the industry who use more robust databases and learned that NXT is far behind in displaying data sources. The address field is important because it's helpful to know if an address was received from the constituent themselves, a staff member, or an NCOA. It helps us in the context of consent.
That being said - we should start asking for this for other data fields in RE, because we need to start tracking where our data is coming from. I believe I saw this in a recent road map, so I hope that this is coming soon.

Just adding on to what others have said. An address info source field is in DB view and needs to be both visible and editable in RENXT with at least the basic functionality that already exists in RE DB.

What further info is needed? This is pretty cut and dry - it's in DB view, your clients use it, dozens have asked for it. Why is this being held up?

Absolutely vital for lots of organisations to have this field visible in NXT. especially when address data is being imported from other systems. Currently 5 years since this was first suggested on here. Surely time to move this on and get it included?

I'm not quite sure why this requires more information - the ask is pretty clear. Allow us to add an information source when updating addresses (either adding a new addresses, or marking that address as a past address).

Is there any movement on this issue? I remain frustrated that I cannot use Webview to update addresses effectively.

Info source is essential for our record keeping to ensure our addresses are the most up to date. Espically when running in built RE Address Finder services that use NCOA, if we have it recorded that the consitutent updated their address with us in the last 6 months and NCOA is trying to update the address to a previous one, we want to be able to correctly update their record and Info Source is vital for that.

This is an essential feature. Every address we enter needs to have an Info Source, so we can't process address updates in NXT without this field.

We are unable to use NXT to update addresses without the ability to add an Info Source. It's useless to us without this this field.

Essential for our records so restricts our use of NXT

This is the main reason why we are not updating addresses in Webview. We need to know where the update came from.

We use this field every time we change an address to donote how we received the update information.  This could be a phone call from the constituent, personal visit, a returned piece of mail, etc.  All address fields in RE should be editable in RE NXT.

Hi Ron, this does need to be able to be added in NXT - we set it for every address that we add, so we are having to have a workaround where it gets set in RE7. I can't see how NXT will be a success if it doesn't have all the same functionality as RE7 - for anyone already using RE7, it's a step backwards not forwards.

I use this field to enter where the information came from, ie.: returned mail, relative, School records, internet search, personal visit, or alumni event. Really anywhere other than address updater. The ability to edit the information is needed in NXT.

Today the Addresses summary on the Contact Information tile has a "View Details" link that will display this information. This field is not editable in NXT today. I am interested to hear of any examples where organizations use this field to denote any non-automated processes they employ to get addresses added. I am assuming the ability to edit in NXT would be welcomed.

It's really important that we know where the information in our database has come from (particularly now with the concerns around consent). So I'm reluctant to let people add new addresses if they can't include that information.
