way to prevent duplicate mailing addresses coming in through registrations

We spend hours each week cleaning up constituent records with duplicate addresses because we require addresses for event registration. RENXT does and OKAY job at recognizing duplicate email addresses (and thus not creating a new email with every registration), but it SUCKS at identifying duplicate mailing addresses, so we get tons of duplicate mailing addresses in our constituent records and have to spend a ton of time deduping them every week. Can RENXT be smarter and recognize that 1234 Smith Ave is the same as 1234 Smith Avenue???

Every single address is overwritten for each event registration. We have constituents that now have the same address in the system 4 times. When I called support I was told we didn't setup our registration form properly, but it appears it doesn't matter because we are still getting duplicates with the changes we made. Blackbaud knows this is a problem and it has been mentioned about having a similar process to online data review for gifts. No one seems to know if that is actually happening.

Concuring to request that the following are treated as exact matches, not new addresses: Lane/Ln, Drive/Dr, Street/St, Avenue/Ave, Circle/Cir, among others
