Manually refresh the Analyze Dashboards

I would love to be able to manually refresh the dashboards in Analyze. I can do this in the database view, and it would be helpful to have some control over when I can download the most accurate information in this format.

    Admin response

We are looking very closely at improvements here. While we can't guarantee a manual refresh as a short term solution, we are looking to improve the refresh times and reliability significantly over the course of the next few months. Thank you for the feedback so far!

The Admin Response is from SEVEN years ago. Blackbaud wishes to sunset database view in a year and a half!
I just completed a project and restructured something for my VP, and she'd like the results ASAP. I can wait until tomorrow, or stay on after hours, just so that I can wait for Raiser's Edge to refresh the reports. Raiser's Edge 7 was first and foremost a CRM, and I wish Blackbaud would look at its roots.

I think Blackbaud is not wanting to risk the server performance to drop when a refresh is happening too often in short span of time.

The 2 hours auto-refresh isn't feasible for high level reporting. I suggest you give manual refresh to limited users that DBA can assign in security panel. I believe this should suffice as a temporary solution.

It's impractical to have to wait one, two, three, or more hours! The change should be immediate. My team can't rely on web view for reporting for this reason.

Ok, that response was FOUR years ago! I can' believe a solution hasn't been found. Unlike many of the more cosmetic improvements that are made to NXT, this is has to do with functionality.

Please! There are many times that while I'm building dashboards, I realize data isn't loading the way I want, and I change coding to make the dashboard accurate. But then I have to wait two hours before the change is registered in the dashboard to see if it's working correctly. It significantly slows down my work flow.

This would be great and definitely meets a need we have!

This concern was voiced over a year ago with a promise of looking at it "in the coming months" which was obviously not a real intention.  Why can't this be corrected?  The functionality for a quick refresh is there in the DB view, so NXT is actually a huge step backwards in this regard.  Please attend to this now.  Thank you.

I desperately need this to refresh quicker, we are using this page to report to our Board and sometimes we have last minute data changes that need to be reflected.

Yes, this is huge for us as well, especially for executive reporting.  Some of them have access to the Analyze features, and when certain activity doesn't show up right away to update their charts, they question Analyze's usefulness.

Absolutely agreed, we need this data real-time or my development officers will continue to ignore the feature....

absolutely - we are in the middle of a one-day giving campaign and have to rely on manually pulled reports from RE7 that are emailed to the staff and volunteers in the field instead of being able to use RENXT dashboards that they could access from their phones

It is so difficult to test without the refresh.  While I understand the need to regulate refreshes 6 hours is too long of a time.  Right now my refresh is at 17 hours.  The inconsistency is frustrating.

Yes, please. I endorse this idea. I have senior leadership asking why the numbers in Analyze aren't "right" compared to reports run out of RE and it's almost always because there's a delay in the refresh.
