Adding custom fields as a filter on Insight Designer would be a GAME CHANGER! We have a robust list of custom fields that help categorize our constituents, but my hands are tied when it comes to using this valuable information in Insight Designer. If you make one just update to Insight Designer, please make it this one!

More than just custom fields, we'd like to see an expanded availability of database fields such as alternate name columns, aliases and addressee.

Yes, could you wonderful Blackbaud engineers please include this in the next update of Insight Designer--as in right away! This would make our worlds rock! :)

I agree that there's no point in using Custom Fields if they can't be reported on - and it's deeply frustrating to hear that people have been asking for this (and for numerous other improvements to the reporting function) with no progress made by Blackbaud.

People have been asking for this for over four years! What are Blackbaud doing?

The ability to include Custom Fields in 'constituent' insights should be included in the Report Builder tool in NXT, not just Insight Designer. There is no point in using custom fields if they can't be reported on - this just renders them useless.

I was considering subscribing to Insight Designer, but it would be a waste of money if I can't use it to filter by custom fields.

This is so needed. We use PowerBI for reporting mostly because of this limitation.

Please add this! In order to show our fundraisers the data they need, I have had to take over other, unused fields on constituent records to replicate my custom fields just so I can filter them in Insight Designer. It gets confusing to keep data accurate in more than one place! Katherine

Please! I have gift officers who want more data and I had to tell them "Sorry, I can't do this in a way that is accessible to you." If folks want to use the data, I shouldn't have to tell them no.

BIG missing piece in Insight Designer. Please add!

This is a big missing piece that keeps us from purchasing the insight designer. E.g. it would be so nice to design an insight for a dashboard with how many constituents have a specific table entry for one of our custom fields.

Custom fields are kind of useless if you can't report on them! Please add this basic functionality.

Insight builder is incredibly limited without this feature.

Please add this feature to insight designer. It is rather frustrating to have to find so many workarounds to making NXT reporting more useful (if possible at all). This one idea would make NXT reporting more robust and insight designer a much more attractive add on.

@Justin Muraotore - could you please explain the reasoning behind your decision to not add this to the current plans for now? Not being able to utilize custom fields (as well as all fields within RENXT) reduces the usefulness of the reporting feature.

Changing the status of this idea to Voting Open because it’s been reviewed. While not currently planned, this will remain open for voting and future consideration as a change.

We purchased Insight Designer about a year ago and I have had to create SOOOO many "work arounds" because I cannot filter on constituent custom fields. Please add this feature! It will boost Insight Designer to a whole new level of usability.
