We recently discovered that a constituent record had, at some point and by someone, been deleted. On contacting Support, it became apparent that there was no way to determine when and by whom this was done. Knowing this would be very useful in highlighting any business processes that need amending or permissions revising.
Given that hosted RE (and thus by definition RENXT) does not support audit tools (e.g. audit trail), it would be really useful to have at least some basic auditing functionality.
My preferred options would be:
1. Support third party audit tools
2. Introduce built-in audit functionality (starting with deleted records)
3. Create a 'recycle bin' from which mistakenly deleted records can be retrieved
Totally agree on this one. Auditing deleted records and created by data or by user are the first steps for RE / RENXT. Next one is the audit trail of specific changes made by users to be viewed by DB administrators.
There are 3 other ideas submitted that are all the same request as this. If all were merged into one idea, it would be an additional 150+ votes for this idea. Hope Blackbaud it look at this and taking this into account as this is an important feature to have added to Blackbaud products.
This was something sales staff promised us before we were ever a blackbaud customer and was a basis of our decision. How about an audit-able log of ALL changes...
This is very very important - we would like to add our voice to this idea as well.
This was discussed and agreed was a priority at least 10 years ago. So frustrating that it never materialized.
Hi SO, unfortunately solutions like Audit Trail are not compatible with hosted/NXT versions of Raiser's Edge. So even if one could justify the cost, they won't work with NXT.
It amazes me that this does not already exist! We have found, but not implemented, third party, 'Audi Trail', solutions but these come at a substantial cost.
Totally agree! We had Audit Trail from Zeidman but this is not supported in the hosted environment
