When an event sponsorship comes in online that is for a specific fund (we do not want to split the fund), we need to be able to record a portion to a contribution revenue account and a portion to an event revenue account. This is basic accounting principles. We cannot do this or even adjust the gift amount prior to posting. We have to post, then adjust the gift amount down to the contribution amount, then record an entirely different gift record to represent the FMV/event revenue amount. We're open to a variety of solutions:
1) ability to split across GL distributions within 1 gift,
2) ability to actually split a gift into 2 transactions,
3) ability to reduce the gift amount prior to approving and posting so at least we don't have to adjust.
