Please give us the ability to test RE NXT event registration forms we set up as if we were the end user without creating an batch with associated gift that we can’t delete.
I’ve created an event in RE NXT with an associated registration form and I wanted to test how the form functioned and what the thank you page and confirmation email looked like. I tested the event using our TEST merchant account and a TEST credit card from the blackbaud website. The test went fine and functioned/looked fine.
My issue is that it created an NXT batch with said test ‘gift’ (i.e. registration free…no donation associated with it) using a fake credit card number and there is no way to delete the test ‘gift’. I can move the gift to another batch and delete the batch, but it doesn’t solve the issue of being able to delete the gift itself that was made with a fake credit card number.
We need that ability when testing our event registration forms with fake credit cards and our test merchant account. We have that ability with RE NXT donation forms in that we can process a transaction without creating a gift record in test mode but not for events. I suspect if we set our donation forms as ‘Test mode and create one-time gift records’ I would be in the same boat I am now with testing event registration.
I’ll add one more connected frustration. Why is an event registration treated like an actual gift? It isn’t a gift and shouldn’t be treated as such by showing up in constituent records giving history, gift lists, etc… Registrations may go towards fundraising but a lot of time they go to pay for event expenses and therefore shouldn’t show as a gift. It creates a lot more work for our finance and data admin folks to separate this data out of regular reports, etc…
Thanks for your time and please consider voting on this idea.
Voting for this mostly because of the inability to delete gifts that originate from an Online Giving Form. We had this issue months ago and were told by support that there's no way to delete a gift that comes from a Form (though they couldn't say why).
I'm guessing that ebcause the NXT forms are all based on the same foundation, the same is true here. There needs to be a way to delete these gifts -- particularly when they come in as part of the testing process (otherwise users are disincentivised from testing).
