Bring the "MAIL" function to NXT for exporting data for tax receipts, etc.
Can you please please bring the “mail” tab over to webview. Our organization needs it for tax receipts. We need to be able to personalize the look of the receipt. The receipt offered in NXT is (I’m sorry to say) horrible – there is no way to edit the way it looks, you can’t make any changes to spacing or size. It looks so basic and old fashioned and something that would have been available 30 years ago. We have legal size receipt paper (that we have made specifically from a printing company), where the top portion is the personalized thank you letter to the donor and the bottom portion is the tear-off receipt. This paper is pre-printed with our logo. It is also pre-printed with the tax receipt number that matches what is produced in RE. This is done on our auditors direction. Our receipt portion looks modern. Your receipt does not. Our receipt allows us to add specific details for stock gifts. Your receipt does not. Your receipt seems to be built mainly for emailing with an option to mail, but printing your plain looking receipt with weird spacing and empty lines isn’t a good option because it looks so bad. The majority of our donors are an older demographic who prefer a printed copy. I know you want to push all email all of the time but it doesn’t work for every organization.

We use the Mail functionality to generate gift-acknowledgements and tax receipts daily. We export the .csv with the gifts and do a mail merge in Word. This allows us to have customized letters for each of our fundraisers and appeals. We do not use email for these. We could potentially use emailed acknowledgements and receipts if it were possible to have a form letter that would pull in specific merge fields. The AI generated emails that require review for every gift is not something we find helpful. We know what we want our letters to say and we don't need anything generated by AI, we just need dynamic merge fields that will populate based on logic we set up, like we do with our mail merge in Word. We print our letters on our own letterhead, so we need to be able to customize the entire letter, not just specific data that gets merged.
Also agree. Our organization uses it for acknowledgement and tribute letters. It's a must. Weekly use in our shop.
Database "Mail" functionality is absolutely needed in web view! Our organization uses it 3 - 5 times per week to create donor acknowledgement letters and other mailings.
Like poster Jenn L, the majority of donors at our org are an older demographic who prefer print mailings and communications. Email is not the solution for everyone.
