I understand that we all wanted a quick ways to enter gifts similar to the batch in DBV (database view). This is not helpful for processing online gifts. Even Online Express had a different view than batching. We have a few custom fields that helps us edit the gifts before they get posted and this new Grid View Batch is not easy to see the custom fields and add data to the gift.
I rarely disagree with an idea here, but I want to correct some inaccurate information. Online Express has a data review screen, then it moves to the same gift batch view that is used for other gifts.
Many organizations need the robust options in grid batch view to process these gifts. I understand the features of the previous batch view is helpful for your specific need to apply custom fields, but I believe the upcoming ability to apply templates to gift batches will satisfy your needs. Until then, I agree that the original web view batch view should be available.
Can a developer confirm that gift custom fields are or will be part of templates?
I'm still playing with the new layout, but absolutely HATED the original NXT batch process, it takes forever to load and in the time it took to update 1-2 records, I could have entered 10 in the DBV batch.
I still use DBV for majority of my tasks and will continue to until I don't have a choice. I don't like NXT at all, it's too slow, too many clicks, too spread out, too many useless tiles etc....
Agreed. Grid view batch for approving online gift has been a nightmare and takes so much more time than the prior process.
Same -- there are 2 custom fields I add to online gifts but otherwise most of them are good to go based. Plus, without grid view it has been easier to review the "recent appeals" list and quickly update the CFAP, if needed.
