Apply Batch Grid View Template to existing batch

We uses an online donation form using the Blackbaud Sky API. The batch is created each day by the API. When reviewing web gifts we need to see more columns than are shown by default but we cannot apply a template to quickly get the right columns showing. We need to pick them individually.

Please allow us to apply a batch template to an existing batch.

As a workaround we will create a new batch, apply a batch tempate, move the web gifts into this batch, then delete the batch created by the API. This is a long workaround when being able to apply a template to an existing batch should be a simple fix.

We need this for quickly processing batches that come through online giving, especially payments for events. It will save so much time.

There should be a way to set a default batch template in the settings so the columns that are needed to review do not have to be added each time. I can't understand why certain key columns were not selected for the default they are using right now.

From the batch entry before I used to be able to see all the gifts and click on them one by one and add or edit the bits I needed too, now on the new grid view I can not add or see the things I need to edit, so I have to add the columns then edit, but you can not save as a template in the Blackbaud donations batch that comes from our website! so have to edit the column's every time or save and go manually into each gift to edit (I have created a batch template, and been told to move the automatically created batch over to gift batch create with my the template !)

This is a loss of functionality from DB view, and something that is so desperately needed. It might not seem like much if you only had to do it once, but having to update and adjust every single applicable batch like this results in unnecessary process slowdowns in gift entry.

Yes! We should be able to select a default template that all imported or online gifts start in and apply a different template if that isn't quite right. Functionality that is available in DBV should e available in WV. The columns that currently default are as if no consideration was made for the PURPOSE of reviewing the batch--besides date, donor, and amount, I always need to check CFAP, soft credits, tribute, and custom fields, for example.

Every Blackbaud customer needs this functionality.

Please fix this issue ASAP; batch templates are virtually worthless without being able to apply them to automatically created online giving batches.

This needs to be addressed. Or revert back to original form.

This is so essential. Really difficult as it is right now and leading to errors in gift entry

This update is causing a serious productivity degradation, I cannot see why templates for existing batches was not built as an option before release. 9 out of 10 of our batches are through online giving.

This update has crippled our department. We rely one person for all data entry and this once simple task now takes nearly 3 times as long.

To release a new feature that is not fully functional that folks cannot opt out of is really disappointing. For those of us who perform gift entry as a major part of our job, it just got exponentially more tedious, takes much longer, and is affecting our ability to perform our roles.

This has made gift entry extremely tedious for me, as every time I work on a batch I must deselect, select, and reorder columns. It makes absolutely no sense to release this without the full functionality of applying batch templates.

Yes! The main way we use web view batches is through automatically created batches via online donation forms. Why have a great feature like gift batch templates, but not the ability to apply them to automatically created gift batches??

Couldn't agree more! This change has made the process slower. The quicker this change is made the better.

THANK YOU! This is exactly what I had to do yesterday, when I logged on and discovered that everything had changed. It is most certainly not a viable option to do everyday. I also do not like the fact that when you have many donations within a given batch, it is hard to track the changes and the gift you are working on when you have to move through the various columns. They need a highlight feature and a freeze feature to freeze the constituent name.

Agreed. Gift and Action changes in NXT haven't won me over from Database View yet. While I've gotten used to the process, I can't say that it's an improved method of data entry. This update really made a mediocre switch far worse.

I agree. This is a really annoying and time consuming problem. We get single online gifts through our online donation form. What happened to the old way with ability to quickly edit gifts within a batch. The gift would be in the top right and you would click on it and be able to adjust details QUICKLY and then approve the batch. This new way of having to adjust all of the columns and not being able to use a template is really frustrating!
