Outlook integration enhancement

A nice feature to enhance the outlook integration when it appears in NXT is to allow you to add some notes, comments, context to the interaction at the same time as adding that information to the database.

Like Heather, we are looking for the ability to add Solicitor/Fundraiser and Status when adding an Action to NXT from Outlook (any version).  Adding an Action from Outlook without at least these two Fields isn't particularly useful.  The only workaround that comes to mind is to have Users include their name and the Status in the Notes, then set up Lists (or Queries in 7) to locate these Actions and update them with that information.  Which is more work on the backend, but would save trying to get Users to create the Action, then sign into NXT and update the record themselves, which may mean they just don't bother with any of it.

Hi Halley - I noticed that you cannot add a Notepad Description, Solicitor, or Status when adding an action via Outlook. Do you know when these will be available?

    Hi Collette (and fellow watchers),

I updated this idea as "Already exists" because of the recent release of the Raiser's Edge add-in for Outlook 365. Using the new add-in, you will be able to edit notes on your email action prior to saving it to the database. I would encourage you to review the help documentation available within the Raiser's Edge NXT product for system requirements and installation instructions, and give it a shot!

That being said, it is unlikely that we will implement similar improvements to the Outlook integration available in Database View.

    Thanks,

    Halley
