Allow users to change the gift amount before validating in web view

Our org likes to fully separate things like donor-covered fees from our gift amount in database view, rather than splitting the gift - we prefer for each item to have its own line. Currently, for transactions in web view, this is not possible if the donor gave via credit card using one of Blackbaud's donation or event registration forms. I have to validate the gift as-is, then go back into database view and change the gift amount, and create a separate new gift for the processing fees. This is a logistical nightmare when we have lots of donors covering fees and creating twice as much work on our entry. Please allow users to edit the gift amount as they can in database view!

Yes! We would like the ability to split the gift on different lines and not use the built in split gift function. In database view our practice was to enter a split gift on different lines and we would like to be able to do the same thing in webview when processing gifts that come in via Online Giving forms.

Please let us split gifts on different lines so that each gift has its own gift ID and the correct amount for each fund is shown when querying and exporting.

While not for the same reasons as the original poster, we absolutely need to be able to change the amount. We are an event heavy team and therefore have many sponsors who sponsor multiple events. We do not use split gifts for the well known reporting issues. When a gift comes in, we need to be able to adjust the amount so we can manually add in the other pledge payments that will go to different funds and appeals that were part of the sponsorship. We also have several donors who will send in gifts and request they go to three different areas of the hospital. The only work around currently is time intensive and frustrating. We have to manually create all the gifts that are part of the payment, manually add all the identifying information such as approval codes and custom fields that contain the information of how the gift came in, then move the original gift to a dummy record and delete the dummy record. While I understand the intent, it's not a real-world solution. We still find ways to be able to do what we need to do, it just takes monstrously longer to complete.

We don't use split gifts either for both reporting and finance, and some donors will type in two different funds so being able to edit the amount would be super helpful and much less work on gift entry.

Absolutely, we don’t use the split gift option because it doesn’t work well with our finance department—they’re unable to view the details of how a gift is divided.

Yes, please!! Donations and fees are handled separately in reporting, finance, etc. This would be most useful. Just download the registration fee and the donation as separate gifts. Almabase has this as a choice in their setup. Thanks.

Yes Please!!! Currently I have to add a duplicate gift with $0.00. This keeps all gifts in the same batch. Then after approving the batch I have to edit both gifts to get them set correctly, before sending reports to Accounting, and before receipting them.
