We would like to be able to add custom fields to optimized donation forms and pull them in via API as well. I feel this feature addition would help increase the interactivity of our online donation platforms, and lead to a stronger conversion rate.
Please add custom field options. We offer thank you gifts for new recurring donors but not having the attribute field option via optimized forms makes this a very difficult/manual process for us.
YES, we really want this functionality. We have a campaign in honor of a physician department chair, and we want people to be able to include their note of thanks as he retires... but they won't know to do that if we can't customize the field.
When creating optimized forms, it would be helpful to be able to add custom fields. For example, we are working on an “In Memory of/In Honor of” giving form for our animal hospital and would like to collect additional details, such as the pet’s name and species.
I would love to be able to customize the ability to describe or give instructions for the link where donors select a fund. The little carrot is a big ambiguous, and donors may not know to click on the link to select a fund. Maybe say instead of "your gift will support" , I'd love to be able to customize it to say "Select the fund..." or "Click to choose a fund" or something that's more direct. We have many older donors who may not intuitively know what to do, and enjoy the convenience of online giving.
In the design for simplicity of optimized pages it has removed convenience of a one click step to see if the donor's donation can be matched using a plug in for Double the Donation. This seems to be "optimizing" the opportunity to match your gift right at the time you give it with one quick search vs having to respond to an email which Gen Z'ers are not likely to do.
Hi, Thanks for your idea submission! Can you provide more detail on what additional information you are trying to capture? Is it additional information via custom fields, or more flexibility in field placement?
Given the A/B testing going on with Optimized form and the focus on a streamlined form experience, it is not likely we will add a drag and drop designer like we have in Standard Form. However, we do have 2026 plans to allow addition of custom fields after the donation is made, and to be able to sort the optional fields in the order you want.

I agree, it would be helpful to allow custom fields such as "organization" or an option to customize the text above gift comments.
