We sometimes receive donations through an online donor form in NXT where the donor is providing their payment for a pledge they committed to. When the donor provides their pledge payment this way and chooses to cover the transaction fees for the credit card, the presence of the transaction fee coverage negates us from being able to apply that donation to the existing pledge. This occurs even though the transaction fees are associated with a different Fund in NXT. NXT is trying to consider both the donation and the transaction fee coverage to the pledge, which doesn't match up to the pledge amount and provides a block in the system that it can no process.
Would like to put the idea out there that this be corrected to where we can apply just the donation part to the existing pledge without the system trying to also apply the transaction fees to the pledge.
I also notice that the transaction fee is coming into batch with the same Gift ID # as the donation. For us, it would make the most sense for it to have its own Gift ID # when it goes into batch. This would (in my mind) also allow it to be segmented where the actual donation can be applied to the pledge without the transaction fee causing an error message.
This is very important to non-profits that accept transaction fees. Currently when ever we receive a pledge payment that also includes a transaction fee, we have to zero out the whole gift and reenter both parts separately. It will not accept a partial application to a pledge.
