In database view each time you open Post to General Ledger the system "remembers" the last settings that were used. This is extremely helpful as we use the same Journal Code, journal reference from Configuration, post transactions in Summary, and leave anonymous name intact EVERY time we post. Please add the ability to set a default for the Post Options section of Gift Posting in the unified view. Having to change those settings each time causes extra work and time spent on this process, and more potential for errors.
Totally agree. This is much needed. This is why I post RENXT from database view.
This is critical as I'm afraid that I'll forget to update the Journal Code, which would invalidate the entire POST! Triplicating work for both the Development Office and the Finance Office.
In an effort to utilize the features of RENXT, I did a small batch test post in RENXT after carefully selecting each field to ensure it matches to the database view setup. The post was successful! When I went to post again, I saw that none of my selections were saved. Due to time constraints and possible user errors in selecting all the needed fields, I am sticking with database view for posting. I am hoping RENXT will offer the same "remembrance" that database view allows.
Agreed! I should not have to print out the settings to tape to my wall for reference when dbv goes away (now I can open dbv to check the settings). And even though unposting appears to be integrated in WV (so no need for the separate plug-in), it is not something we should be regularly doing because we chose the wrong Journal Code or forgot to check off "Detail."
We are trying to move our processes to webview, but keep running into challenges like this. Each time I go to post in webview, I have to open database view and go line by line to be sure all posting options are the same. This needs to be a sticky feature.
This is really needed for our organization to keep up with daily workflow.
AGREED! Posting locks data prematurely. We had to fix it for database view, which we did, but once again it's an issue.
YES!!!!
The NXT posting is the worst!
AMEN !!!
It should never have been released the way it is.
