Something my org uses packages for is events/sponsorships for campaigns. I think it would be extremely useful to have the option to set up package with the campaign, appeal, fund, benefits and gift amount already synced together for gift processing ease. Furthermore, if this could be done with a split gift that would be even better - like adding a package for an entire campaign that has three events. If we sell a Gold Sponsor Package for our Yearlong campaign, I would be able to select that package and have it automatically split up the sponsorship amount to each appeal and event fund needed based on the campaign package. Some of this is available already but I think a key aspect of this would be tying the fun to the package - because we use multiple funds with an appeal.
I agree. While Packages and Benefits are now available in Web View, they don't tie together and are useless in tracking benefits received by the donor.
In database view we are able to set and assign default benefits for each package level. When we enter a gift with a particular package, we are then able to load the assigned default benefits associated with that package - this in turn updates the Receipt Amount on the gift record.
Without having assigned default benefits set up for each package that we can then load inside the gift record when that package is applied to the gift, data entry staff must stop to look up the befits that are associated with that sponsorship package level and then enter the benefit details.
Enabling each package to have assigned default benefits that can then be loaded within the gift record allows staff to enter gifts without disruption saving time and frustration. This also would align the Web View functionality with functionality that is available in database view.
