This is needed for Canadian CRA -- we must be able to report on/account for every receipt # issued.

Update on this receipt history issue. BB says that they have no plans to support this functionality. While tracking of unique receipt numbers and re-placed or re-issued receipts is not required by the IRS in the US, this is a legal requirement for all Canadian and I believe New Zealand organizations. Time to start raising the alarm bells if your organization is in one of these countries.

After 2 months, I've heard back from BB Support on this, and the response is not good to say the least! Having the receipt history on a gift is an absolute requirement for the CRA in Canada and I would expect other countries as well.

Support response "I have been advised that the receipt history section in the receipts and acknowledgements tile receipt history is not a supported feature for gifts created through RENXT. RENXT gifts can only have a single receipt on them and does not accept or store collections of receipts. RENXT tracks this in another way such as the way you already view this information. This receipt history section would require a suggestion to our ideas bank"

The 'other way to track' that is being referenced is through Receipt>Receipt Series which will show the history of the receipt, replacement or re-issues, but it shows the history of all receipts issued and there is no search function. If you were to try to do this at audit time, you would have to go through every receipt issued for all time, to try to locate the particular one you are looking for. NOT AN OPTION

Yes, we need this for audit. Why would BB create a field for receipt history and then not populate it?

Hi, I will echo this. It's vital to be able to go to the constituent record, click on Receipt history and see the actual history. For an example, if I cancel and reissue a receipt, the receipt history will show the most recent issued number, but not the history of a cancelled receipt. This is often needed at audit time.
