P2PE - Point to Point Encryption for Raiser's Edge NXT

Solution: P2PE - Point to Point Encryption for Raiser's Edge NXT credit card processing. This will encrypt the credit card data at the swipe or pad entry using hardware that attaches to a laptop or PC. Because the raw credit card data never touches the computer, this reduces the PCI scope for the nonprofit.

Hi Jeff, yes you're correct. This capability is now "shipped" for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge customers.

If you're interested in utilizing this particular secure form of payment, the first step is to engage with Bluefin and signup for their P2PE solution. More information can be found on this resource on Blackbaud.com

What does this mean? It says it shipped?

Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE) is now a Generally Available feature to our RE NXT customers! Blackbaud partners with Bluefin to provide a PCI-validated point-to-point encryption (P2PE) solution for organizations processing payments with Blackbaud Merchant Services.

You can learn more about this and other updates to our Payments Services by registering for the Product Update Briefing on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 2:00pm EDT

Note: P2PE, which is related to payment processing is different than P2P (Peer-to-Peer Fundraising), which is related to a fundraising strategy that empowers individuals to raise money on behalf of a cause via online fundraising pages. The two abbreviations are often mixed up, so a clarification felt appropriate.
