We should be able to delete gifts in NXT
Any gift entered in NXT cannot be deleted, either in NXT or the database view. This is ridiculous. One can edit a gift, but for some reason, deleting outright - even if you have supervisor rights - is not possible? Once in a while mistakes happen, and having the workaround of just zeroing out a gift is frankly not acceptable to our organization.
Here is the KB article that mentions this. Apparently this is intentional, which boggles my mind.

I cannot be the only user that has mistakenly added a donation twice. I should be able to delete the mistake without having to call for help and without having to amend the donation to $0.00 because it can't be deleted.
I cannot understand why we are unable to delete gifts. We are trying to transition to RE NXT away from database view, because Blackbaud are encouraging us to do this, and yet this is a significant problem. Blackbaud, if you're listening, please fix this now!
This does seem like a no-brainer that should be fixed. I don't understand why this would be set up like this intentionally.
This thread is from February 2021 and the date is now November 21, 2024! I believe it is time to make the change/update so that users are able to delete gifts in RE NXT. This is a problem that causes a messy database. We are humans and need to be able to correct our errors.
This is beyond ridiculous! Restore this functionality immediately.
Ridiculous decision by Blackbaud. We used to be able to move £0 gifts to a new constituent record and then delete the whole record as a work around, but its no longer allowing us to do that. Never experienced this on previous databases before. Please just allow Supervisors to delete gifts.
This is super frustrating, and I completely agree with others that adjusting gifts to zero is in no way a solution. I have worked in many other donor databases and have never encountered such a limitation before.
This is such a huge challenge. Please let the Supervisory level users the ability to delete an NXT gift. I am most unhappy that a gift record can not be deleted and remains featured in a record where it should not be ... even if it is adjusted to zero.
This is a significant issue as donor lifecycle analysis does not ignore zero value gifts.
Totally agree. Not being able to delete a gift just doesn't make sense. For this reason and others, I'm not impressessed with NXT.
Please explain what purpose this serves.
Truly perplexed that this seemingly simple fix has still not been implemented after over three years. Adjusting gift amounts to $0 is a completely messy and imperfect solution, and the fact that it is the recommended course of action directly from Blackbaud should be embarrassing for the company.

trying out new NXT event forms and now stuck with gifts we can't delete - this should be fixed (they are registration fees not gifts)
Utterly baffling. This is basic, MVP functionality that is still not present 8 years after launch.
My gosh, ran into this today. Was totally unaware you can't delete. Back to RE7 we go.

wow just noticed it! That's BS Blackbaud fix this. While you're at it fix your glitchy consolidated e-receipting process in RE.
Agree. It does not make sense that we can not delete the gift in NXT. We are reenforcing the staffs to use Database view when adding the gift, but that should not the standard practice as most of the fundraising team member use NXT on daily basis.
In my case it is a ton of test gifts when attempting to create an automated gift system through the SKY API. Now there is a bunch of trash I can't clean up.
