This is somewhat related to this Idea, but as that one is marked as Shipped, I didn't want to just add a comment there.

I went to add 3 new Attachments to a foundation's record in NXT the other day.  They were from before we were Hosted, so had been Linked rather than Embedded, but we're applying again, so want to see the files from the last application.  I encountered 4 frustrations:
1.  This process could be streamlined: click [Attach A File], drag & drop the file, set the Tag/Type, [Save], click [...], click [Edit Attachment], update the Attachment Date.  Why can't I edit the Date when adding the file?

2.  Author, Title, Description Fields are not yet available.  In some cases, I've taken to severly abbreviating this info into the filename so that at least it appears in NXT.  Oh, I take that back.  Description now appears, but cannot be added/edited from NXT (so only if you embed from 7 and add the Description there).

3.  The Attachments on the Tile cannot be sorted.  There are no columns to sort by and I don't see any controls to use.  More frustrating, while we can now edit the Attachment Date, the sort order appears to still be by the Date/Time/Order Attached.  So the 3 files I Attached yesterday I did in the wrong order, plus there was an existing file that should appear in the middle, and it doesn't.  The 4 files on the Tile, in order from top to bottom, appear like this: 1/13/2015, 12/28/2015, 1/20/2015, 5/1/2016

3.5.  I'd much rather scroll thru Attachments rather than page thru them.  Or [Work with Attachments] to go to a full screen listing (or flyout listing...or both options).  This is in general, not just for the Attachments Tile.

4.  I know that it was announced in a blog post that Attachments from Actions and Proposals would not be available/accessible from the Constituent Record, but this means that (once Gift Records can have Attachments) the 3 files for this one piece would be located in 3 separate places.  The Application Instructions would probably be on the Constituent Record as they don't really change from year to year.  The proposal (scan of what we actually submitted) would be only on the Proposal Record, and the gift paperwork would be only on the Gift Record.  Is this no longer to be the case?  I just looked at one of my dummy records, and the Attachment still appears both from the Constituent and Proposal Records.
