The response field is important in keeping the connection to the donor. Many donors/constituent do want to attend, but don't follow up, or we have many sold out events, and this gives them a seat. It's also a way to estimate how many are going to attend when we send out a save-the-date mailing, which allows them to get save a spot. Then they get the actual invitation, (which saves us money, since the invitations are costly). We remove the individuals who responded no from the mailing list, Also, it generates a telephone call from us, to keep the connection open. In addition, most of our Directors only use REnxt to view the data, and this assists them when looking at the constituents history and future attendance. If they know the constiuent responded, they can use this information when contacting the donor regarding other matters.
