Updating Addressess NXT

When you update an address in NXT it should update all records and relationship records that share that address. This however is not the case and is causing tons of returned mail. Same should apply when marking an address inactive. If you mark an address inactive it should make all records and relationship records that share that address inactive as well.

agreed. It the changes don’t propagate to all shared instances, what is the definition of “shared”?

I can't believe this ability isn't in webview yet, it is so critical. I cannot think of one single situation where an organization would move, but their employees/contacts would not move with them. Or, likewise, where an individual would move, but their spouse wouldn't. There is a reason shared addresses exist, and having to update them separately- especially when there are multiple constituent relationships- is terribly inefficient, and a step backwards in workflow processes.

I see a list of all persons who share an address and have the option to update the shared address or just the single address. We use this frequently when updating mailing addresses for Alumni who no longer live with their parents.
