One of the challenges we frequently face is managing singular fundraising relationships that involve multiple entities. For example, we have a relationship with an individual who has a family foundation, owns a company, and has a corporate foundation for that company.
In this scenario, if the individual is assigned to fundraiser Joe, then we need the family foundation, company, and corporate foundation to also be assigned to Joe. If the individual is unassigned, they all need to be unassigned, etc. We have created relationships between the entities that indicate they need to be maintained as a group, but this is the type of nuance that easily gets missed during data entry. We need a reporting solution to identify cases where the assigned fundraiser information has gotten out of sync, e.g. The individual is now assigned to Sally, and we remembered to assign the family foundation and company to Sally, but missed the corporate foundation, so it's still assigned to Joe.
To find this scenario, I need a report that tells me the individual is assigned to Sally, the individual is related to the corporate foundation, and the corporate foundation is assigned to Joe. For this, I need to be able to filter on and/or output assigned fundraiser information for the related organization.
Alternatively, I could use a report that tells me the corporate foundation is assigned to Joe, the corporate foundation is related to the individual, and the individual is assigned to Sally. For this, I need to be able to filter on and/or output assigned fundraiser information for related individuals.
