We are new to RE NXT and have cases where a donor gives through their employer and the employer matches it, so both the original gift and the matching gift technically come from the employer. Since the funds come from the employer, we book the original gift on the employer and soft credit the employee. This means we have to book the match as a one-time gift because RE NXT doesn't allow the donor for the original gift and matching gift to be the same. We would like to still be able to book the match as a matching gift to ensure it is correctly accounted for in reporting.

If there's concern about accidentally having an organization match its own gift when it should not, perhaps there could be a setting on organization records that allows the individual org to match its own gifts.

Note - I believe we could do some trickery with moving gifts between constituents to get the original gift and match onto the employer, but that feels risky. Likewise, we could probably have two constituent records for the employer - one for the original gifts and one for the matches - but that breaks up the donation history and invites data entry errors.
